- Portland Adventist Academy has been educating high school students for more than 100 years and believes every student is a unique child of Christ. Serving families of all denominations, PAA’s mission is to join parents in their efforts to inspire students to live a Christ-centered and character-driven life both now and beyond high school.
- PAA teachers seek to inspire curiosity and a joy of discovery. Project Based Learning and Mission Focused Learning are incorporated into curriculum to help students become creative problem-solvers. Ambitious students can excel with Advanced Placement, dual credit, and honors courses, while inclusive learning options optimize understanding for students with exceptional learning needs.
- There’s something for everyone at PAA. Fine arts and digital arts are taught by professional artists and PAA’s modern recording studio can grow a young musician’s future. From sports to music, as well as rock climbing, steel drums, and gospel choir, PAA students pick from a diverse set of extra-curricular activities. They can get their hands dirty in the school vegetable gardens and learn to prepare vegetarian and vegan meals. They can gain leadership skills through clubs, committees, worship leadership and planning, sports, and student government.
- PAA’s greatest desire is to introduce students to Jesus and encourage a life-long walk with Him. Weekly student led chapels, prayer before every class, and several Week of Worship events give students regular encounters with God. These efforts are enhanced with spiritual retreats, Bible camp, weekly community vespers, and local service and global mission trips.
